YOUNG prospect Jack Singh Brar will on Tuesday hope to take his first step towards earning a European Tour card.

The Remedy Oak ace has just turned professional and will tee it up in the first round of First Qualifying Stage Section C in Lisbon.

There are three qualifying stages in total, the second taking place at various courses in Spain in November. The final stage is inked in for the same month at Lumine Golf Club in Tarragona.

Singh Brar shed his amateur status after impressing during Great Britain and Ireland's 19-7 Walker Cup defeat to the United States at Los Angeles Country Club earlier this month.

The former Brokenhurst Manor member won two foursomes and one singles during the match.

Writing on his Instagram account after the event, Singh Brar said: "I am delighted to announce I am officially a professional golfer. It was my pleasure to represent Great Britain & Ireland in the Walker Cup to top off my amateur career.

"I'd like to thank all the people for their love and support and I hope it continues into the professional ranks. I can't wait to see what the future holds."
