DORSET'S Georgia Hall mastered the elements to put herself well in contention at the halfway stage of the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open yesterday.

Late starter Hall had the worst of the weather but ensured her challenge would not be blown off course by adding a superb one-over-par 73 to her first round 71.

Two double bogeys in her first 10 holes, coupled with a birdie at the seventh, left her with work to do to make the cut, which fell at five-over-par.

But she dug deep and one further blemish at the 13th was more than offset by birdies at 12, 15 and 18 at a bitterly cold and wind-swept Dundonald Links.

Her exploits saw her break into the top 10, leaving her sharing seventh place on level par ahead of the weekend.
