DORSET star Georgia Hall admitted her birthday celebrations would be muted – before revealing her ambitious wishlist for the upcoming year.

Former Canford Kid Hall today turns 21 but she has shelved thoughts of marking the milestone in favour of focusing on her final practice round for the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco.

The tournament is due to begin tomorrow with Wimborne-based Hall keen to continue a strong start to the year which has already seen her break into the world's top 100 for the first time.

Hall told the Daily Echo: "I'm not going to do anything so it's not going to be any different to normal, which is a shame, but I tend to be away for quite a lot of my birthdays.

"I haven't really celebrated in England, although I have had presents off friends.

"I look forward to my birthday for a couple of months beforehand but when it comes to the day, it goes so quickly."

Hall, who turned professional in 2014, finished fourth in last year's Ladies' European Tour order of merit with earnings of more than £145,000, despite missing out on her first LET tournament win.

And the former Oakmead College pupil has set her heights even higher this time.

She said: "One of my aims is to be first on the order of merit. I want to be as consistent as last year because that's more important than winning.

"Rather than winning an event and then missing three or four cuts, I would much rather be second, third and fourth because that means you are playing well every week.

"This year I'm aiming for a tournament win on the LET, to win the order of merit, get in the Solheim Cup team and have a couple of good results in Majors."

Hall, placed 93rd in the global rankings, is one of just four English players in the top 100, the others being Charley Hull, Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Melissa Reid.

Reflecting on her improved position, Hall said: "It feels good. I played really well in China so I was hoping to creep in there and I did fairly easily in the end, so it's a step in the right direction.

"I'm trying to concentrate on getting even lower. It's not my main concern but it is good to get as low as possible. I'm very happy to be one of the best English players."

After the Lalla Meryem Cup and next week's Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies' Open in Barcelona, Hall will focus on fine-tuning her game. Where she chooses to do that will depend on the climate.

She said: "We have quite a while off after Barcelona but I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. I might practise in Spain but if the weather stays sunny in England then I won't have to go anywhere.

"Hopefully, it will remain sunny and I will just keep myself busy."
