REMEDY Oak assistant Dominic Knight won his first event as a professional after sinking two eagles in the final four holes.

The 22-year-old from Bournemouth shared top spot in the Dorset and Wiltshire PGA medal at Kingsdown Golf Club, which is part of the Race to Bowood winter series.

The former England schoolboy international made eagles at the par-five 15th and the par-four 17th. He dropped four shots and made 12 pars.

He shared the triumph with Mark Sandry (Swindon Premier Golf Academy) and Henry Pallas (Upavon).

Sandry would have won outright but for a disastrous eight on the par-three 16th.

He was then comfortably in the lead after a birdie at 14, followed by an eagle. He recovered to finish with two birdies.

Pallas made five birdies including two in the closing stages.

Ben Christey-Clover was fourth on 74 with former champion Greg Davies (South Cerney) one shot behind.

It was Knight's best result since reaching final qualifying for the Open in 2015 while an amateur at Ferndown.

The Boscombe-raised player comes from fine golfing stock as his father Nigel won the Daily Mail Foursomes in 1997.
