DORSET'S Georgia Hall is pleased to see her world ranking rise but says the Ladies' European Tour's order of merit is her greater focus.

The ex-Curtis Cup star flew 32 places up the global rankings courtesy of her second-placed finish at the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies' Open in Abu Dhabi.

She now occupies a career-high berth of 121st, alongside her third-placed spot in the LET order of merit.

Hall told the Daily Echo: "I look at the world rankings occasionally but I don't focus on them too much because they don't really get you into any tournaments. But it's good that I keep on moving up and, hopefully, I will continue to.

"I look at the LET order of merit because that gets me into a few tournaments. If you stay in the top 10 you get into the Australian Open and one or two really big ones.

"That's important for me and I would like to finish in a very good order of merit position come the last tournament of the year in Dubai."

Reigning Victorian Open champion Hall was cruelly denied victory in Abu Dhabi by a late charge from the United States' Beth Allen.

Hall added: "The aim for this year was to win on the LET.

"The Victorian Open was quite big and I would like to win again before the season's up but I am having a great year so far.

"I would love to win a tournament while I'm playing really well. I'm trying to expect it more and more so I'm ready when I'm in that position."
