GEORGIA Hall admitted 'forgetting' her course-record round had been key to hitting the top of the leaderboard heading into the final 18 holes of the inaugural Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies' Open.

Wimborne-based Hall shot a women's course record of 64 at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club in Abu Dhabi on Thursday and followed that up with a five-under-par 67 yesterday.

Those efforts, combined with an opening 70, saw the former Oakmead College pupil move one shot clear heading into today's final round and within touching distance of her first victory on the Ladies' European Tour.

Hall said: "After the great run yesterday I tried to forget it and act like I had shot level par.

"I did that and I stayed patient through the front nine because I had a silly three-putt from 12 feet. I'm happy with five under.

"When I wake up tomorrow, it's a new round. Eighteen holes is a lot of golf and anything can happen.

"I'm going to take it shot by shot and if I end up winning, that would be amazing."

Hall is on 15 under overall with Sarah Kemp, Melissa Reid and Beth Allen among those in the chasing pack. The tournament carries a prize fund of more than 490,000 euro.
