GEORGIA Hall’s Women’s British Open campaign ended in disappointment as she missed the cut by a distance.

A rising star on the Ladies’ European Tour, the Bournemouth player shot a second straight round of five over par at Woburn yesterday.

The 20-year-old had required something special after a difficult opening day but despite her best efforts, she fell short.

Her challenge was effectively over after the first nine on the Marquess’ course, a bogey at the second being duplicated on the eighth before she let two further shots slip at the ninth.

The former Oakmead College pupil then dropped her fourth shot in three holes and unusually, finished the tournament without a single birdie.

Hall is currently ninth on the LET order of merit with nearly 60,000 euro to her name.

Following the Olympic Games, the next tournament on the circuit is the Ladies' European Masters at Golf Club Hubbelrath in Düsseldorf, Germany at the beginning of September.
