GEORGIA Hall sank four birdies in her final five holes to finish eighth in the Ladies' Scottish Open.

The 20-year-old started the day sixth on the leaderboard but bogeys on the first, fifth and sixth checked her progress at Dundonald Links, North Ayrshire.

She secured par on the next seven holes before finishing with a flourish to complete a round of 70, two under on the day, six under overall and five shots behind winner Isabelle Boineau.

Hall had endured a mixed opening round, recovering from a double-bogey on her first hole to secure par by the close of play.

Saturday's second round gave the Bournemouth-born prospect hope of competing at the sharp end with a flurry of four straight birdies putting her within six shots of Wales's Becky Morgan.

Hall scooped 12,500 euro of the 500,000 prize fund with her earnings standing just short of 60,000 euro from eight Ladies' European Tour Order of Merit events. She sits ninth on the overall leaderboard heading into the Women's British Open at Woburn Golf and Country Club, Milton Keynes, which starts on Thursday.
