BOURNEMOUTH’S rising star Georgia Hall fired a one-under-par 72 to record a top-30 finish at the Helsingborg Open today.

The 19-year-old followed up a disappointing three-over round at Vasatorps Golf Club yesterday to finish on one-over for the tournament.

An eagle at the 12th today proved the highlight of a chequered card that was Hall’s second-best round of the week following her second-round 71.

But she may reflect with regret upon her third-round 76 which cost her a spot in the top 20.

Hall, who has already played in the US Open and British Open this year, will now take a break from Ladies European Tour action as the Evian Championship and Solheim Cup take place over the next fortnight.

Prior to the Helsingborg Open, the teenager had banked more than 32,000 euro on her first full year on tour, which included a haul of more than 7,200 euro from her tied-fifth finish at the Tipsport Golf Masters at the beginning of August.

Brokenhurst Manor’s Liz Young finished well down the leaderboard in Sweden having briefly flirted with the top of the standings after her second-round 68.

Young carded 75 yesterday but a final round of 82 saw her challenge fade dramatically.
