DORSET golf sensation Georgia Hall is hoping to finally shed her L-plates - but is unlikely to get behind the wheel of her new £50,000 Mercedes.

The teenager, who only turned pro in July, hit the headlines when she won a gleaming Mercedes C 200 after bagging a stunning hole-in-one at the Dubai Ladies Masters last month.

Hall used a four-iron to sink her tee shot at the 163-yard par-three 15th on the Majlis Course at Emirates Golf Club – only to later reveal she could not drive.

However, the 18-year-old former Oakmead College pupil has been having an intensive course of lessons since winning the top-of-the-range luxury saloon and is hoping to take her test in the next few weeks.

But with the insurance on the vehicle being so high for a newbie driver, Hall is pondering cashing in the car and using the funds to help finance her during her debut season on tour.

Hall, who is attached to Parkstone Golf Club, secured full membership of the Ladies European Tour when she finished second at Lalla Aicha Tour School in Morocco last month.

“I think I am going to exchange the car for money,” said Hall, who has been practising at Parkstone and working on her fitness over the winter. “I am still not sure but it would be a nice bonus. The insurance is one of the reasons.

“I have got my theory booked for next week and, as soon as I pass that, I can take my test. I have been doing it full-on for a month and have been told I go too quickly!”

Hall, who played a handful of LET events after receiving sponsors’ invitations last season, is in line to make her debut as a fully-fledged card holder in the £450,000 Lalla Meryem Cup in Agadir, Morocco in March.
