GEORGIA Hall's week in Sweden started with a lost suitcase and ended with a prize fund of more than 2,200 euro.

The luggage of the former Curtis Cup star was mislaid after she touched down to play in the Helsingborg Open, although her clubs made it through unscathed.

The Wallisdown golfer was reunited with her suitcase several days later and went on to finish tied-32nd at the Ladies' European Tour event.

She carded one-over-par for the tournament at Vasatorp Golf Club which included a superb second round of 68, two shots short of the best round of the week.

Hall was in contention for a top 20 spot heading into the closing stages of the final 18 but four bogeys at the last six holes saw her slip down the leaderboard.

The 18-year-old, who received a sponsors' invite to play, will return to action in the Access Series later this month when she tackles the Strasbourg Open.

Meanwhile, Ferndown's Hayley Davis played her part as England shared eighth place at the Women's World Amateur Team Championship in Japan.

Davis and team-mates Bronte Law and Gabriella Cowley finished the 72-hole tournament at Karuizawa 72 Golf East on 14-under-par.

That was enough to tie with the hosts and secure England's best finish in the event since 2008.

Davis was tied-40th in the individual scoring thanks to rounds of 76, 69, 72 and 71, which left her on level-par.

The 50-team tournament was won by Australia, who came from seven shots down to overtake Canada and win the Espirito Santo Trophy on 29-under.

England Golf women's performance manager Rebecca Wood said: “The team displayed world-class work ethic and effort in preparation and competition. We beat some very strong nations.”
