DORSET golf ace Georgia Hall recovered from a disappointing start to finish 16th at the HLR Golf Academy Open in Finland today.

The Wallisdown-based star followed up her six-over-par first round with efforts of one-over and level-par at Hillside Golf & Country Club in Vihti.

That placed her on seven-over for the tournament, some 18 shots behind runaway champion Emma Westin of Sweden.

Hall is now 27th on the Access Series order of merit and closing in on a berth in the final stage of Ladies' European Tour qualifying school.

Meanwhile, Ferndown's Kevin Spurgeon and Remedy Oak's Gary Emerson both endured lacklustre finishes in the Travis Perkins Masters at Woburn.

Spurgeon carded 13-over to end up tied-61st at the European Senior Tour event, while Emerson was tied-68th.
