Brown strike delights Killick
FINISH WITH A WIN: Tom Killick
FINISH WITH A WIN: Tom Killick

TOM Killick described Stuart Brown's scorching strike as a "one-in-a-million" goal as the forward scored in Poole's final-day victory at Alton.

The hosts took the lead early on but Dolphins hit back in style to romp to a 5-1 win, which saw them end the Wessex Premier Division season in fourth position, level on points with third-placed Wimborne Town.

And it was Brown's thunderbolt that stuck in Killick's mind.

The Poole manager said: "It was one of the best goals I've ever seen, it was an unbelievable strike.

"It got headed clear and he was about 25 yards out to the right of goal. He ran in at full pelt and hit it on the half-volley and the sheer velocity of it nearly took the net off. The speed of the shot was remarkable."

Killick added: "Fawzi Saadi started the game in midfield and was instrumental.

"It was a good way for us to finish because it would have been a long time to stew on a bad result."

Poole Town: Harvell, S Richardson, I Richardson, Whitley, Gill, Ayres, T Smith, Saadi (Holmes, 70), Culliford (Hogan, 60), Brown (Ayley, 70), S Smith.
