Jy: We can come straight back
 |
| DOWN: Jy Taylor |
RELEGATED Ringwood can compete at the business end of Wessex Division One next season, according to manager Jy Taylor.
Taylor's side have endured a torrid time in the top flight this season and their campaign came to an end on Saturday with a 3-1 defeat at Hayling United.
But the Ringwood boss believes next term could be a much brighter prospect for the club.
He said: "It's been three years since I've played in that league but we know it's difficult to get out of.
"I've got a side that, in the second half of the season, have picked up a fair amount of points. I think we've got a good chance and I'm sure there's a lot of teams out there who can go up.
"I'd hope we can be up there challenging. I think we've got every chance as long as we start well."
Taylor added: "I'm still waiting on two players who haven't been available in the last couple of weeks, but everyone who was involved on Saturday has signed for next season."
Ringwood finished ninth in their last Division One campaign in 2005-06 but were promoted on ground grading.
Ringwood Town: Pearce, Kerley (J Taylor, 75), Brunnen, Pierson, Greaves (Hicks, 35), Leadbitter, Wright, Burrett, Howes, Rudd, Russon.
