Non-league: Elm returns to action with Wimborne
7:32pm Tuesday 9th October 2012 in Non league football
By Ian Wadley
Bashley goalkeeping legend David Elm has come out of retirement to play for Wimborne Town.
Experienced stopper Elm was tonight named in the Magpies starting line-up for their Southern League clash at Paulton Rovers.
Wimborne boss Steve Cuss moved to sign Elm as emergency back-up after his two keepers Jason Harvell and Dan Ackerman both sustained injuries.
Swanage-based Elm hung up his boots due to a back injury in December 2011.
Prior to that, he had enjoyed a distinguished career with Bashley, making 393 appearances and keeping 110 clean sheets for the club.
