Poole boss Killick eyes Kelly as a signing
7:00am Friday 14th September 2012 in Non league football
By Ian Wadley
POOLE Town boss Tom Killick is close to completing a deal for ex-Bashley and Salisbury City man Adam Kelly.
Killick reported that he agreed terms with Kelly after the versatile midfielder had become a non-contract player at Truro City.
Kelly could make his Dolphins debut when they visit Beaconsfield SYCOB in the FA Trophy preliminary round tomorrow (3pm).
Manager Killick is confident Kelly will be able to make a major impact at Tatnam.
Killick told the Daily Echo: “He was a contracted player with Truro but became a free agent. He is someone I was aware of from when he was at Salisbury. I think he has started every game for Truro this season and he played regularly for Salisbury when they won the Southern Premier.
“I talk about the fact that it is difficult to find players to improve us as a team but I hope he will.”
Taffy Richardson is likely to miss the Beaconsfield clash due to work commitments, with Sam Clarke (groin) and Tom Price (collarbone) already ruled out.
Killick added: “It will be difficult but, after getting knocked out of the FA Cup so early, we are desperate to try to have a run in the Trophy.”
The prize money on offer is £2,300 and a home tie against Bashley awaits the winners.
Dolphins: (from) Hutchings, Baines, Walker, Spetch, Emmerson, Burbidge, Kelly, Devlin, Sturgess, Brooks, Preston, S Brown, Chudy, O’Donnell, Benssaouda, Beasley, T Brown.
- Wimborne Town welcome back Nathan Peprah-Annan and George Webb for their FA Trophy preliminary round tie at Clevedon Town.
Defender Shaun Brian is also fully fit after recovering from the back injury which saw him miss Magpies’ previous two games.
Wimborne will be hoping to build on their promising Southern League form to claim £2,300 in prize money.
Magpies: (from) Ackerman, Arnold, Peprah-Annan, Cole, Brian, Costello, Webb, Maybury, Blake, Gill, Hubbard, Kemble, Smith, Davidson, Sainsbury, Roast, Brian, Battison.
