BOSS Graham Kemp has described Tom Price flying the nest at Christchurch as “bitter-sweet” for the Wessex Premier club.

Price has been snapped up by AFC Totton after impressing boss Stuart Ritchie in Priory’s midweek defeat by the Stags in the Hampshire Senior Cup.

The striker is in line to make his debut in Totton’s Southern League clash against Division One South & West rivals Bedfont Green tomorrow.

Kemp, whose charges host Bemerton Heath Harlequins (3pm), said: “I asked Stuart not to take Tom just to stick him on the bench but he said he would start.

“I will be speaking to Stuart after the weekend because he said he had one or two players he could possibly give us for the run-in to compensate.

“It’s great for Tom and the club because he has come through the ranks here and has stepped up. From a manager’s point of view, it’s a blow because we are trying to push for the top six.”

Price, who works as a personal trainer in Christchurch, could still be available for Priory midweek games.
