A FOUR-goal first-half blast eased Bashley to a sensational 5-2 home victory over Brackley as they leapfrogged their visitors into second place in the Zamaretto Southern Premier last night.
After Steve Riley’s side had held off a spirited Brackley opening, Joe Maxwell, Dave Allen (two) and Matt Parnell plundered goals for Bash before half time.
Anthony Robinson got one back for Brackley 90 seconds into the second period and Ben Mackey cut their deficit to 4-2.
But Mark Gamble rammed home Bash’s fifth from about 12 yards with 16 minutes to go as they cruised to their 11th home league triumph of the season.
Bashley: Elm, Smith, Ferrett, Middleton, Parnell, Knowles, Kelly (Mason 81), Allen, Maxwell (Keeler 72), Gamble (Cream 76), Knight. Unused subs: Prodomo, Gazzard.
