HAMWORTHY United defender Richard Jackson saw red as they cruised past Alton 3-1 at home.

Jackson was given his marching orders with 10 minutes to go after picking up a second yellow card.

Jamie Barron, Steve Llewelyn and Jack Swann netted for Hammers in a frantic final half-hour as they made it four wins in a row.

Hammers boss Simon Browne said: “We didn’t play particularly well so it was great to still get three points.

“We’re up to 15th now and I think we’d have to go on a very poor run to get relegated.

“But I’m not resting on my laurels because I had a target to get us out of the drop zone when I took over.

“With 15 games left, I’m looking for us to keep winning games and maybe finish in the top half of the table.”

His son, Rob, is also in New Milton’s squad, but sat out that match as well.

Mark Colman deflected a shot into his own net to give Hayling an early second-half lead, but Dominic Allen grabbed Linnets’ leveller with six minutes to go.
