HAMWORTHY United defender Richard Jackson saw red as they cruised past Alton 3-1 at home.
Jackson was given his marching orders with 10 minutes to go after picking up a second yellow card.
Jamie Barron, Steve Llewelyn and Jack Swann netted for Hammers in a frantic final half-hour as they made it four wins in a row.
Hammers boss Simon Browne said: “We didn’t play particularly well so it was great to still get three points.
“We’re up to 15th now and I think we’d have to go on a very poor run to get relegated.
“But I’m not resting on my laurels because I had a target to get us out of the drop zone when I took over.
“With 15 games left, I’m looking for us to keep winning games and maybe finish in the top half of the table.”
Hamworthy United: Frampton, Antobus, Llewelyn, Horlock, Jackson, Diaper, Crow, Barron, Cannie (Browne, 80), Dancer, Swann. Unused subs: Seal, Shergold, Toghill.
<•>Ex-Pompey star Paul Hardyman has signed playing forms for New Milton, but club secretary Richie Phippard said the experienced defender would only be used in emergencies.
Hardyman is temporarily in charge of Linnets on a month-to-month basis and sat on the bench as a substitute during their frustrating 1-1 home draw against Hayling on Saturday.
His son, Rob, is also in New Milton’s squad, but sat out that match as well.
Mark Colman deflected a shot into his own net to give Hayling an early second-half lead, but Dominic Allen grabbed Linnets’ leveller with six minutes to go.
New Milton: Webb, Winzar, Pidgley, White, Lever, Colman, Avery (Wilson, 79), Quirk, Allen, Odeh, Walker (Light, 65). Unused sub: P Hardyman.
<•>Poppies’ game at Newport (Isle of Wight) was called off.
<•>Dave Allen cracked a brace to take his tally to five in four games as Bashley cranked up their Zamaretto Premier promotion push with a fighting 2-2 draw at play-off chasing rivals Cambridge City.
The 26-year-old striker equalised twice for Steve Riley’s side after Neil Midgley and Jamie Barker had fired the Lilywhites in front on two occasions.
Bashley: Elm, Smith, Knight, Middleton, Bottomley, Knowles, Kelly, Allen, Cream (Maxwell, 71), Mason, Keeler. Unused subs: Ferrett, Prodomo, Gazzard, Gamble.
<•>Verwood’s Wessex One promotion hopes nosedived when they slumped to a heavy 5-1 reverse at fellow high-fliers Hamble.
Dan Baguley got Verwood’s consolation to make it 3-1 at one stage, but James Musselwhite’s hat-trick and strikes from James Roden and Paul West saw Hamble end up convincing winners.
Verwood: Fawcett, Elysee, Evans, Jamison, Murray, Homer, Arnold, Kelly (Faulkner, 60), Dyer, Goodall (Matt Newbery, 70), Baguley. Unused sub: Martin Newbery.
