CHRISTCHURCH boss Graham Kemp is this week hoping to further bolster his squad with two new recruits.
Kemp is starting early in his pursuit of Wessex League honours next term and he called his squad in for the start of pre-season training last week.
Among the 24 players to turn up was Kish Chengadu, the New Milton Town defender.
Kemp wants to add the Linnets star, who made 20 Premier Division appearances last season, to his side as he looks to build a team capable of challenging at the business end of the top flight.
“I’m going to speak to him this week,” Kemp told the Echo.
“He looked good in training and settled in well. We’ll speak over the next week or so and hopefully get him to put pen to paper.”
Kemp has already snapped up centre-half Charlie Pierson for a second spell at Hurn Bridge, while he is also set to hold talks with former Poole Town winger Dan Taylor.
Lockyer, who joins Magpies from Wessex Premier rivals Hamworthy United, has been recruited after both Pete Smith and Scott Arnold left Cuthbury.
Powell added: “We might sign one or two more but we’re quite happy with what we’ve got.”
Left-sided star Smith joined champions Poole Town, while Arnold signed for Bournemouth Poppies.
Dolphins have already lined up fixtures against the likes of AFC Bournemouth and Dorchester Town.
