BOSS Matty Holmes knows in-form Wimborne will need to pull out all the stops in a bid to maintain their unbeaten run over Easter.

Magpies’ thrilling 3-3 draw at Southern League West leaders Taunton on Tuesday saw them make it 10 games without defeat in all competitions.

A creditable share of the spoils against the Peacocks saw Wimborne drop one position to fourth ahead of Saturday’s trip to fifth-placed Bristol Manor Farm (3pm).

And following their visit to The Creek, Holmes’s high-fliers entertain fellow promotion hopefuls Salisbury at Cuthbury on Easter Monday (3pm).

Holmes told the Daily Echo: “We just hope we can stay in the top six over Easter and get a great crowd against Salisbury.

“The lads are playing really well, they never give up and are producing some really good football. If we could get some really good crowds in the final few games, it would help the club’s coffers.

“We are desperate to try to stay in the hunt but I have always said if we could finish one place above last season that would still be a great return.

“But these boys are looking like they could do better than that and that is what we want.

“We lost 3-1 at home to Bristol Manor Farm and they still have the same squad. They are still up there and have done really well. It promises to be a tough game, especially away from home, but we are playing well.

“We are 10 games unbeaten and are on a good roll and in a good place. We want to finish the month unbeaten if we can.”

Midfielder Louis Kellaway returns to the squad following a break in Europe but influential playmaker Luke Holmes remains a doubt due to a hip injury.
