BOSS Tom Killick confirmed Poole Town would be appealing red cards shown to Marvin Brooks and James Constable as part of a controversial finale to their clash with East Thurrock United.

The pair both scored as Dolphins came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Rookery Hill in National South.

But Brooks was dismissed by referee Jack Packman for “alleged dissent” in stoppage time, while on-loan frontman Constable was also sent off after the final whistle.

Giving his take on the incidents, Killick told the Daily Echo: “Marvin’s was just before the end of the game and that was for alleged dissent.

“We feel the referee made a significant error in relation to that and will be appealing.

“After the game, there was a sending off of James Constable. Again, as I understand it, for comments made to the referee.

“But our clear take on that was James wasn’t the person who made the comment the referee alleged was made.

“There was a group of players around the referee at the time and it was basically a case of mistaken identity. So we will be appealing that as well.

“We believe, once again, we have been on the wrong end of a bizarre decision. Not just once, but twice and are hoping the FA will accept that is the case.”

Following first-half goals from Rocks duo Reece Harris and Sam Higgins, Dolphins rallied and pulled one back through Brooks shortly after the interval.

He found the net having been teed up by striker Warren Bentley.

Brooks then turned provider as he flicked on a long ball forward to Constable, who hammered home in stoppage time to earn Dolphins a point.

“We were unbelievably frustrated and upset to be 2-0 down at half-time but we carried on taking the game to them and creating chances,” added Killick.

“In the end, we got our reward and it was the least we deserved. It was a very good performance.”
