BOSS Ollie Cherrett saluted the character of his Christchurch players after they had come from behind to see off Whitchurch at Hurn Bridge.
Goals from Harvey Wright and Richard Jackson kept Priory firmly in the hunt for promotion from Wessex One.
Victory left them two points behind top two Tadley Calleva and Andover New Street with games in hand on both.
“We are in control of our destiny,” said Cherrett. “If we could put together a run of four or five wins, we would be in a strong position for promotion.
"I have never questioned the character of this side. We have some big characters who want to win and we take personal pride in it.
“We were disappointed to concede but it was all about the reaction. We didn’t panic and I thought we passed the ball well.
“In the last 20 minutes, we finished strongly and could have probably made it a lot more comfortable.”
