POOLE Town were dealt a hammer blow in their bid to pull away from the National South relegation zone after conceding a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Bognor Regis Town today.

The Dolphins opened the scoring when Warren Bentley bagged his 12th league goal of the season after 65 minutes.

But they were pegged back when Doug Tuck levelled deep into stoppage time to earn fellow strugglers Bognor a share of the points.

Poole host Truro City at the Black Gold Stadium on Boxing Day (3pm).

Wimborne Town got their Southern League West promotion push back on track with an emphatic 7-1 win over bottom-placed Bishop's Cleeve.

Jack Lovell started the ball rolling after just four minutes before Ben Tunnicliff's own goal double their lead with Lovell the architect.

Leading goalscorer Toby Holmes made it 3-0 after 11 minutes before Lovell added his second and Magpies' fourth just two minutes later.

Although Jack Watts pulled one back for the hosts, second-half goals from Louis Kellaway, Matt Oldring and Lee Francis ensured Wimborne would bounce back in some style following defeat by Didcot seven days ago.

Currently sixth, Wimborne host seventh-placed Winchester City on Boxing Day (3pm).
