BOSS Tom Killick is backing Poole Town to again raise their game in the FA Cup.

Dolphins visit Southern League Premier Slough Town in the third qualifying round on Saturday  (3pm), with £7,500 in prize money at stake.

Having come through the previous round with a 2-0 victory at Southern League West Salisbury, Killick described his side’s next test in the cup as “winnable” – providing they are at their best.

He told the Daily Echo: “You always hope for a better draw but there aren’t that many better. There are a lot of teams in our league still in it.

“Slough away is winnable. If we play well, we are very capable of winning the game and there were worse ties out there.”

Dolphins have again been handed a tricky trip in the cup – their most recent home tie was a first qualifying round clash against Barnstaple Town in September 2015.

“The thing that irritates me is it’s another away one,” added Killick.

“It would have been nice to have a home match but we have just got to try to rise to the occasion again.”

Slough currently sit third in Southern League Premier, a level below National South Dolphins.

The Rebels, who play on a 3G surface at Arbour Park, have won seven out of their opening nine league fixtures.

They have progressed through two rounds of the competition, having beaten Berkhamsted and Dulwich Hamlet to set up their tie with Poole.

Killick added: “I suppose on paper we have a lower-ranked team but Slough are right at the top end of their league.

“The reality is they are going to be of a standard of sides in our league and we are away from home.

“There were two or three ties which I had my eye on. Unless you are going to be very fortunate and get one of those, at this stage of the competition, you would normally get a tough match.”
