SWANAGE moved back to the summit of the Dorset Premier League after beating Bridport reserves 4-1 at Day’s Park.

Graeme Rose nodded the Swans in front on 23 minutes before top scorer Cameron Beard doubled the hosts’ lead six minutes before the break.

Beard then headed home his second to make it 3-0 just after the hour mark and Rose netted a fourth five minutes later.

Bridport did manage to score a consolation goal late on but it was not to matter, as Swanage surged to the top with seven wins coming from eight league fixtures.

Chris Long scored four times as Hamworthy Recreation rocked previous league leaders Balti Sports with a 5-3 win at Magna Road.

Long initially struck after Danny Andrews had given Balti an early lead.

Rec then took control with two more goals coming from Long and another from Ash Boyt to lead 4-1.

Further goals from Sammy Nichols and a Ricky Lane penalty added to Balti’s tally but Long had struck again to secure an impressive win for Rec, who moved to fourth place in the table.

Hamworthy United reserves carried on their recent good form by beating struggling Milborne Port 4-1 away from home.

Brandon Randall’s strike gave Hammers a first-half lead.

The advantage was doubled by Sam Carter’s neat finish in the 48th minute and it was soon 3-0 when Jamie Kay found the net for the visitors.

Macauley Biddle pulled one back for Milborne from the penalty spot but Kyle Spyers wrapped up the win for Hammers late on.

A goal from Callum Neate proved consolation as Wareham Rangers lost 3-1 away at Gillingham Town.

With Wareham having held the lead at the break, the Gills replied through Jack Baker, Nick Thompson and Harry Smith to run out comfortable winners.

A Charlie Gajic header along with goals from Luke Homer and Sonny Wilkinson helped Holt United overcome Merley Cobham Sports 3-0 at home.

Goals from Parley’s Adam Trimby and Josh Moody in the final 20 minutes helped Parley clinch a 2-0 home victory over Shaftesbury reserves.

The Rockies twice hit the woodwork when the score was goalless.

Blandford United’s erratic start to the season continued as they went down 3-1 at home to Westland Sports.

Westland took the lead on 25 minutes when Josh Payne slotted home following a corner.

Leo Hayward doubled the visitors’ lead in the 53rd minute before Blandford’s Rob Manson reduced the deficit 10 minutes from time.

But any chance of a fightback was extinguished on 85 minutes when James Irwin struck a third for Westland.
