BOSS Tom Killick was keen for Poole Town not to dwell on their 1-0 defeat at Bath City.

A first-half goal from veteran striker Marvin Morgan meant Dolphins suffered their second 1-0 loss on the spin, in a reverse which put them 11th in the National South pile.

Former Plymouth and Shrewsbury Town frontman Morgan popped up in the 42nd minute to seal victory for the Romans, inflicting Poole’s third league defeat in six games.

But with Hungerford Town set to visit the Black Gold Stadium tomorrow (3pm), Killick was keen for his charges to switch their focus immediately, with just 48 hours between the fixtures.

He told the Daily Echo: “When it’s such a close turnaround you can’t dwell too much. There’s no time to dwell on it, you have to look forward now.

“We have had an awful lot of matches against Hungerford in the last five or six years and they have all been close ones.

“We know what they are all about and they know what we are all about. So often they are tight affairs and we don’t expect this one to be much different.

“We need to try and get some momentum in our home games.”

Giving his thoughts on the defeat to Bath, Killick added: “There wasn’t an awful lot of quality in the game.

“I think a lot of sides are going to go there and struggle, they are going to be effective playing at home with the side they have.

“They were effective in the way that they played but it was just one momentary lapse, which is quite often the case, that cost us quite dearly.

“It was a bit of a scrappy game but then we could have perhaps come away with something.

“In the latter stages of the game we put them under quite a lot of pressure but we just didn’t get a break.

“In the end, we didn’t quite do enough.”
