NEW Milton Town maintained their unbeaten start in Wessex One by earning a solid point from a 1-1 draw at Tadley Calleva on Saturday.

Spirits were high in the Linnets camp following their 3-2 win over Ringwood Town and the 6-1 drubbing of Follands.

The game was physical from the off with both teams competing for every ball.

New Milton threatened first when Brad Aspin rose at the back post and headed over after good work by Mickey Finch.

Ant Harris drew first blood for New Milton when his speculative 40-yard cross-cum-shot was fumbled into the net by the Tadley goalkeeper.

Tadley did not let the goal get them down and levelled minutes later.

In the dying minutes, Lyam Texciera was fouled in the box but Steve Flynn, who had scored a penalty in each of his past two games, saw his spot-kick well saved.
