WIMBORNE Town have snapped up experienced midfielder Lee Francis from Southern League West rivals Barnstaple Town.
Francis spent four years with his hometown club after moving from north Devon rivals Ilfracombe Town in August 2013.
He helped them win Division One of the Western League in 2015 before they were promoted to the Southern League after finishing as runners-up in the Western Premier 12 months later.
Francis, 28, who now lives in Poole, is a qualified PE teacher and once worked as a coach for Manchester United Soccer School in Staffordshire.
He joined the Magpies after impressing manager Matty Holmes and his staff during pre-season and netted in their 5-0 win over Christchurch on Sunday.
Wimborne lifted the Gerry Page Memorial Trophy after seeing off Priory thanks to Francis's effort, two goals from Ben Mogg, a Jack Lovell effort and a Toby Holmes penalty.
