MARK Ford plundered a hat-trick as Hamworthy United crushed Cowes 7-1 at the County Ground.

Steve Smith opened the floodgates before adding his second and Hammers’ third after Ford had made it 2-0.

Cowes, beaten 8-0 by Hammers in the Wessex League Cup, were again on the receiving end as Ford completed his treble, adding to Edgar’s Zanin’s strike and an own goal.

Goals from Sam House, Brad Strickland and Charlie Willett earned Lymington a 3-1 win at Fawley, while Dave Ewen was on target for Poppies in their 1-1 draw at Newport.

Brockenhurst were condemned to a 3-0 defeat by Portland with Ryan McKechnie netting all three at Grigg Lane, while Bashley suffered a 1-0 home reverse to leaders Moneyfields.

Jordan Fisk bagged Verwood’s consolation in their 3-1 defeat at Sholing.

New Milton’s revival continued as doubles from Steve Flynn and Dom Falco helped them to a 5-0 home win over Hythe & Dibden in Wessex One. Adam Louka also scored.

Charlie Heggan’s strike and an own goal earned Ringwood a 2-1 win at Andover New Street, while Brandon Boontam’s effort was in vain for Christchurch as they lost 3-1 at Alton.
