POOLE Town boss Tom Killick has welcomed the return to fitness of influential midfielder Marvin Brooks.

Brooks has been sidelined since damaging ankle ligaments during Poole's National South curtain-raiser at Ebbsfleet in August.

A key figure during Dolphins' Southern League title-winning campaign, Brooks has been named in the squad for tomorrow's trip to high-flying Hampton & Richmond (3pm).

Killick told the Daily Echo: "One of the blessings of being knocked out of the FA Cup was we had a free Saturday and two weeks to get everyone fit so we are pretty much at full strength.

"It was a big blow to lose Marvin for so long and credit must go to the rest of the players for doing so well in his absence. It is good to have him back because he is important to us.

"He is one of the players I felt would be suited to this league in terms of the way he plays. He is athletic and powerful and that is what we come up against quite a lot with opposition players."

In Jamal Lowe and Nicke Kabamba, Boro – the highest scorers in National South – boast one of the most lethal strike pairings in the league, with both having netted eight times this season.

Former Barnet youngster Lowe has been attracting the attention of several Football League clubs with Stevenage among his suitors.

Killick added: "Most people would say they are the two best forwards in the league or certainly up there. They are a free-scoring side and are doing really well.

"They will probably fancy themselves to finish in the top three or four so, away from home, we are going to have our work cut out. But, because of the break, we are as well prepared as we could be."
