SCOTT Arnold believes Wimborne Town suffered for their enforced lay-off during the 2-1 defeat by Mangotsfield United.
Wimborne had a fortnight's break prior to taking on the Gloucestershire team and despite Stef Penny quickly replying to Lewis Powell's 14th-minute opener for the visitors at Cuthbury, Magpies were ultimately downed by Ryan Bath's winner with 15 minutes to play.
"If we had played half as well as we had in our previous games we'd have got something out of it," said Magpies skipper Arnold. "Mangotsfield are going very well, but I think we let ourselves down a little bit.
"Since the break we have lost some momentum. It has knocked us out of our stride."
Arnold, who said the performance of new signing Jack Lovell following his second-half introduction was the biggest positive of the day, is keen that his side get back on track at second-bottom Totton on Tuesday.
"We've got a run of games now," Arnold added. "Totton are probably in a false position. They've got individuals who can win games on their own. But if we get three points it will get us going again."
Magpies: O'Flaherty, Walker, Hester, Arnold, S Davidson, Maybury, Stokoe, L Holmes, T Holmes, Kellaway, Penny (Lovell, 67). Unused subs: Cooper, Ward, Harvey, Prior.
