HAMWORTHY United allowed a two-goal lead to slip through their grasp in an FA Vase first qualifying round exit to league rivals Amesbury Town.
Ex-Poole Town striker Steve Smith took his season tally to seven with a brace and Matt Morris also found the net but substitute Josh Stockwell’s four-goal haul and a strike from Cameron Roach, son of Cherries academy boss Joe Roach, saw off the Hammers 5-3.
Lymington Town were crushed 4-0 at Western League outfit Oldland Abbotonians.
David Stone’s penalty got the ball rolling with Luke Bryan and Gary Shorney making it three before half-time. Bryan’s second rounded off the scoring three minutes from the end.
New Milton Town were walloped 5-1 by higher-ranked Horndean, while the derby date between Bournemouth Poppies and managerless Verwood fell victim to the weather.
Brockenhurst bucked the trend of bad news with a 5-0 beating of neighbours Ringwood Town.
Will Tickle plundered the first two of his hat-trick before the break with goals from Mark Barker and Mitchell Speechley-Price adding gloss to the score after the interval.
The victory sees Brock claim £600 in prize money and a trip to Poppies or Verwood in the second qualifying round.
