COACH Shane Traynor insists the hard work of Wimborne Town frontman Toby Holmes is bearing fruit.

Holmes, a summer signing from Dorchester Town, has bagged four goals in as many games for Magpies.

The 23-year-old will again hope to be on the scoresheet when Wimborne host Alresford Town in the FA Cup preliminary round tomorrow (3pm).

Reflecting on Holmes's start to the season, Traynor told the Daily Echo: "He's been very good. His work rate, passion and desire are second to none and to see that at this level is very good.

"He deserves his goals because of the amount of effort he has put in on the pitch. He has been fantastic."

The winner of the tie at Cuthbury will bank £1,925 in prize money and the opportunity to compete for an additional £3,000 in the next round.

And Traynor promised Wimborne – bossed by Matty Holmes – would not take Sydenhams Wessex Premier outfit Alresford for granted.

He added: "Every game is a priority. Like every local team, the FA Cup means a lot to us and we all want a good cup run.

"We will go in full strength and won't take Alresford lightly because we have had them watched and we know they are a good side.

"We have to be professional and do things the right way."
