COACH Shane Traynor hailed Wimborne Town's improved display as Magpies triumphed 2-1 over Taunton Town at Cuthbury.
Wimborne bounced back from a 2-0 defeat at Evesham United with their third win in four Southern South & West fixtures.
Traynor told the Daily Echo: "What we wanted was a reaction from Saturday's game and I thought we got that.
"All the players stepped up and we got back to what we do well."
Toby Holmes put the Matty Holmes's side ahead in the 21st minute and after Peacocks defender Callum Martindale was dismissed midway through the second half, Holmes struck his fourth goal in as many games.
Matt Wright netted a late consolation for Taunton.
