SEASONED defender Michael Walker reckons Poole Town are proving their worth in National South – but insists there can be no let-up.

Dolphins secured a point at leaders Weston-super-Mare on Tuesday after playing out a 0-0 stalemate.

The draw saw Tom Killick's side increase to seven points their tally having contested four league fixtures following promotion last term.

Former Dorchester Town man Walker, who made his first appearance of the campaign having returned from suspension, feels his team have adjusted well to life in National South.

He told the Daily Echo: "We all said during pre-season that it was probably going to take four or five games to integrate but we've proved our worth so far and now we have to keep doing it.

"We know what we can do and we have to back ourselves.

"What we can't do is relax and take our foot off the gas because no game is going to be easy in this league."

Reflecting on the stalemate with the Seagulls, Walker added: "In the end a draw was a good result.

"They had good momentum going into the game having won three in a row but I think we gave a good performance.

"There were chances for both teams to sneak it but I don't think either side could complain at the result."

Dolphins: Hutchings, Case, Spetch, Whisken, Walker, Pettefer, Burbidge, Devlin, Wort (Gillespie, 63), Roberts, Baggie (Gleeson, 68). Unused subs: Davis, Granger, Rees (g/k).
