BOSS Gavin Reeves wants Verwood Town to get off to a flying start tonight as Potters bid to earn their first league win of the season.

Reeves has seen his side suffer defeats to Portland United and Brockenhurst in the Sydenhams Wessex Premier so far this campaign.

Potters are yet to register a league goal and the manager believes a rapid response to the first whistle will aid their efforts at home to Lymington Town (7.45pm).

He told the Daily Echo: “I feel we’ve been starting slowly in the league games and we’ve had to change things at half-time to try and lift the players.

“Then we’ve come out in the second half and played some really good football.

“I’m hoping for a high tempo right from the off because starting slowly in previous fixtures has cost us a bit.

“Against Lymington, hopefully, we will change all that and get a positive result.”

Ryan Kelly and Brad Goddard are suspended while Ben Kelly is unavailable and James Guthrie is a doubt with a groin injury.
