OLLIE Cherrett reckons his Christchurch squad is complete after signing four more players and persuading ex-Cherries midfielder James Rowe to return as coach.

The Priory boss confirmed Rowe, 29, would fit the post, which will not involve playing, around the business commitments that curtailed his on-field comebacks over the past couple of years.

“James agreed to a coaching role when we took over last season but unfortunately, was unable to commit,” said Cherrett.

“Since then, his business has grown and he is able to help us with midweek training and matches. Saturday home games shouldn’t be an issue and with his experience, we will be as flexible as possible to make the most of his professional approach.

“He knows us well and desperately wants to succeed like we do. His presence will be crucial.”

Having snapped up elder statesmen Andy Mason, Ross Lloyd and Mark Claremont, Cherrett has also raided Verwood Town for a second time this summer, drafting in Aaron Atkinson.

“I am pretty happy now. The whole thing is coming together and I am really excited,” he added.

“We have a squad of 20 to 22 players and a good pre-season lined up to get them all fit and firing. I wanted it all sorted early and we have done that.”
