VERWOOD Town will not be packing their side with Poole Town's emerging talent next season according to boss Gavin Reeves.

Reeves is a close friend of Dolphins manager Tom Killick, who sent some of his younger recruits to Potterne Park when Carl Poore was in the hot seat.

But while the new man is keen to take advantage of having a National South club on the doorstep, he is keen to strike the right balance.

Reflecting on potential recruits, Reeves told the Daily Echo: "I have spoken to Tom and he spoke about a couple of the under-21 players.

"They do have a couple of young lads we would like to look at and possibly integrate into the team and I am due to speak to him again.

"But I do want to keep a settled side, you can't rely on too many loan players so I am mindful of that too."

Verwood finished 17th in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division last term and Alan Lay quit as manager at the end of the season.

Potters are due to open their league campaign at home to new boys Portland United on Wednesday, August 3.
