SYDENHAMS Wessex League clubs will vote on whether to introduce a third promotion and relegation place between its divisions at tomorrow's AGM.

Should the proposed rule change, first reported by the Daily Echo in March, be sanctioned by a majority of member clubs, the extra places would come into effect for the 2016-17 season.

It could also see teams finishing as low as fourth in Division One elevated to the Premier Division with reserve teams or nursery clubs – notably new members Weymouth reserves – ineligible to go up under FA regulations.

In League Cup, it is proposed all drawn ties to go straight to penalties expect for the final and that semi-finals are no longer contested at a neutral venue.

Meanwhile, a vote over Ringwood Town's membership has been removed from the agenda.

The Long Lane outfit was the only Wessex club to fail to bring its ground up to scratch by the March 31 deadline, triggering an automatic ballot over their future in the competition.

But with Ringwood having completed the necessary work, league chairman Ian Hoare confirmed his organisation had been directed to scrap the vote.

Hoare told the Daily Echo: "Ringwood now have the required grade and there is no need to vote. We don't like losing clubs so we are glad it is all sorted out in line with FA requirements."
