LEE Wort is relishing the prospect of National South football after becoming the first summer signing of Poole Town boss Tom Killick.

Frontman Wort spent two months on loan at Tatnam from Gosport Borough last term and scored two goals in seven Southern League Premier Division appearances.

The 24-year-old ended the season at the club where he made his name, Sholing, in the Sydenhams Wessex League's top flight.

However, he has now made the permanent switch to Dolphins and cannot wait for the upcoming campaign to begin.

He told the Daily Echo: "When I went on loan to Poole last season I really enjoyed my time there and got on really well with everyone.

"I liked the way the club did things and the way everything was set up.

"The club had plenty of ambition and the fact they subsequently achieved promotion proved that.

"I'm really glad I'm going to be a part of Poole's first season in National South."

Poole's elevation from the Southern League – sealed by a 3-0 home win over Dunstable – was the fourth promotion of Killick's 12-year spell at the helm.

Securing the title allowed Dolphins to return to non-league's second tier after a 25-year absence.
