DEPARTING director Mark Bumford cited work commitments and the club’s intention to recruit a commercial manager as his reasons for leaving Poole Town.
Bumford announced his decision via social media on Friday with a host of supporters and sponsors paying tribute to his efforts.
Explaining his exit, Bumford told the Daily Echo: “The club and the demands involved have grown beyond recognition and I cannot devote the time like I used to.
“I spend so little time in Poole now because of my job and I know I cannot do the club justice.
“They wanted to bring additional people and I was advised that someone else could potentially be brought in to run the commercial side of the club.
“On that basis, rather than do something else that didn’t suit my skillset, it was probably for the best that I left.”
The club has advertised the commercial manager's post.
