WINGER Jamie Davidson has returned to Wimborne Town with new boss Matty Holmes securing three of the club’s most experienced squad members on contracts.

Captain Scott Arnold, James Stokoe and Billy Maybury have all committed to deals and Davidson joins Louis Kellaway on non-contract terms with Holmes happy to go what he knows.

He told the Daily Echo: “On his day, Jamie is a wonderful footballer and we are mindful that we will need to get him on the ball in areas where he can cause problems.

“The three contracted lads are very committed, enthused and will be the elder statesmen as such. Billy isn’t that old but all three have a lot of appearances under their belts at this level.

“I saw a lot of them when my son Luke (Holmes) was at Wimborne and along with Louis, I know what they can bring to the table.

“It gives us a head start and we are very pleased.”

Holmes, who leaves his post with the Cherries Academy at the end of the month, will be assisted by brother Danny Holmes with revered coach John Macey staying at Cuthbury.

“I don’t want to change the backroom staff, they are all good people who know how things work,” added Holmes.
