MAX Crow struck deep into stoppage-time as Merley Cobham Sports stunned Bridport 4-3 in the Dorset Senior Trophy final.
Merley had trailed 3-0 at Hamworthy United’s County Ground headquarters but hit back superbly to earn a memorable win.
Tom Bearwish put Bridport ahead after 13 minutes and the teenager got a second soon after thanks to a cracking strike.
Merley pressed hard to get back in the game but 10 minutes before the break, Bearwish wrapped up his hat-trick.
However, it was not long before Lee Wilkins gave Merley hope when he pulled one back.
After the interval, Bridport were reduced to 10 men when a defender prevented a clear goalscoring opportunity.
James Bailey-Pearce duly made the most of the resultant free-kick as he stroked into the net.
Bridport clung on to their lead until the second minute of added time, when Pete Pritchard broke through to send home the equaliser for Merley.
The drama was not over, though, with Crow finding space on the right and smashing a sensational shot into the net off the underside of the bar.
Crow’s late effort meant Bridport had to be content with runner-up spot for the second season on the spin.
