LOUIS Kellaway’s second-half strike saw Wimborne Town emerge with a 1-0 victory from Saturday’s trip to Slimbridge.
Kellaway was slipped in by James Stokoe and finished from the corner of the six-yard box to net and the Magpies held firm despite a late flurry of pressure.
Speaking to the club's Youtube channel, boss Simon Browne said: “I am pleased. We’ve played a lot better than that this season without getting anything from the game.
“The game opened up a bit after we scored and we could possibly have gone on to get the second.
“They might say we rode our luck a little bit with some goal-line clearances but that was what the defenders were there to do.”
Browne’s men are 18th in Southern South & West with two matches remaining.
Magpies: O’Flaherty, Murray, Johnson, Arnold, Davidson, Maybury, Kellaway, Lupton (O’Sullivan, 73), Stokoe, Ford (Waters, 87), Leonard (Bayston, h-t).
