MANAGER Tom Killick has urged Poole Town’s players to ensure the Southern League pendulum keeps swinging in their favour.

Killick admitted table-topping Dolphins had not been at full throttle during a recent spate of draws, a run which came to an end following Tuesday's 2-0 win over Dorset rivals Weymouth.

And while he recognises results can impact on confidence levels, Killick insists it is up to his troops to make their own luck, continuing when they host Biggleswade tomorrow (3pm).

Killick told the Daily Echo: “When you’re in a little run of indifferent results, you tend to think as players that things are against you and you either go one way or the other.

“The better teams are able to overcome that to get back into a good run and the Weymouth win was a good starting point. Before that, we felt we were perhaps not playing as well as we would have liked and in a situation where things were not quite going for us.

“I don’t think it is so much pressure, more confidence, individually and collectively, which is always a very big feature of any team’s performance.

“The expectations are that we should be winning games so when you draw a few, players aren’t as confident as you would like, things become a bit more anxious.”
