BOSS Simon Browne saluted Wimborne Town’s best win of his short tenure – Saturday’s 2-0 victory at Larkhall Athletic.

Debutant Brandon Joseph-Buadi, on loan from Portsmouth, gave Magpies the edge before Mark Ford sealed the spoils in injury time.

Asked if it had been the pick of his three wins to date, Browne told the Daily Echo: “Definitely, you would expect to beat Bashley and Burnham were not as good as Larkhall.

“They were the better side for the first 20 minutes and we had that nagging worry again that we might concede early on. Shane Murphy made a good save but ultimately, that ended up being the only really testing shot he had to face.

“The important thing, especially after how things panned out against Evesham, was to make sure we stayed in the game and once we had gone into it, something broke for us.

“All of a sudden, the game opened up, they had to come at us and things became a lot easier. We wrapped it up late on but we could have had another couple before and after that. I thought we were worthy winners.”

Magpies: Murphy, Murray, Maybury, Arnold, Kellaway, Blake, Haitham, Joseph-Buadi, Stokoe, Ford, Preston. Unused subs: Randall, Johnson, O'Hare, Old, Waters.

  • Wimborne Town chairperson Paula Henley has called an emergency fans' forum at Cuthbury tonight (7.30pm).

In a post on the Magpies internet forum, Henley said: “The purpose of the meeting is to provide everyone associated with the club an overview of where the club sits and to discuss short, medium and long term objectives.

"This will very much be Wimborne Town laid bare."

Manager Simon Browne will also field questions.
