HARRY Redknapp admits his association with Wimborne Town will have to be sporadic but reckons chairperson Paula Henley is capable of making her own mark.

The 68-year-old Sandbanks resident was announced as a new face on the Magpies board last week following Henley's shock return to the Southern South & West strugglers.

But while Redknapp is content to advise and assist at Cuthbury, the former Cherries and Tottenham boss revealed his media and family commitments would prevent any kind of hands-on role.

Redknapp told the Daily Echo: "Paula asked if I could give her a bit of help. I am a football man and Wimborne Town is a local club so if I can help in any small way then I will do.

"I can't say that I will be involved on a daily basis because I am busy but they are nice people there and if they ask me for a favour, of course I'll do my best to do it. I am just happy to help.

"Paula has a lot of drive, she wants to take the club forward and that is great. I certainly hope they can survive and push forward in the way she wants, it would be great.

"If I can pop over to a few games, I'll try to when I'm not watching Bournemouth play or working with BT Sport. I love watching games, it's just I'm very busy.

"I would like to see them succeed, it is a local club and a big part of the community in Wimborne so to see people getting behind the club would be great."
