A LATE goal from Martin Warren proved little consolation for Poppies as they succumbed to a 4-1 home defeat to high-fliers Blackfield & Langley.
Dan Munday put the visitors ahead early on in the Sydenhams Wessex Premier clash and the lead was doubled moments before half-time by Sam Lanahan.
Referee Sean Jenkins awarded a penalty soon after the restart and former Poole Town striker Dan Cann made no mistake from 12 yards.
Substitute Rico Wilson extended the advantage with seven minutes to play before Warren popped up with an effort for Ken Vaughan's Poppies deep into stoppage-time.
Poppies: Broome, Saadi, Ohameje, Speers, Dibba, Ayrton (Needham, 82), Khider, Doe (Nhemachena, 78), Banfield (Ami, 59), Rosario, Warren. Unused subs: Kwaku, Vaughan (g/k).
- Hamworthy United got their first league win since December 19 when they sank Fawley 4-2 at the County Ground.
Leading the scoring for the Hammers was Connor Phillips, who bagged a hat-trick.
Also registering for the hosts was Brad Gale.
Hamworthy climbed to 10th as a result of the win.
