RINGWOOD manager Charlie Pierson said naivety had cost his side after they collapsed to defeat against Totton & Eling in Sydenhams Wessex One.

Efforts from Matt Steer and Sean Leadbetter had put hosts in control but a Sam House penalty just before the break got the Millers back into it.

And a Byron Gharibian goal and a brace from Beng'yela Ngwa handed the away side a 4-2 victory.

Matters were worsened for Ringwood by the second-half dismissals of Leadbetter and Mike Johnston, both for second cautions.

Pierson told the Daily Echo: "They couldn't touch us in the first 20 minutes but after that they kind of wound us up and we were very naive and rose to it.

"Unfortunately, we lost our heads and it wasn't a good day.

"We were plagued by injuries and all of the changes I made were due to those injuries rather than anything tactical.

"But I don't want to take anything away from Totton because they deserved to win."

The Wessex League games of Poppies, Hamworthy, Lymington, Verwood and Christchurch were postponed.
